Monday

well what a horrid day.....hardly slept because I was worried in case the snow settled. I had to take the car to the garage today to get work done on it...only 7000 miles on the clock and failed the MOT on 4 things....scandalous. The garage took the car in to do the work...5 HOURS later they came in and said that they couldn't fix the hooter as the dealers had sent the wrong part !!!!! they said I would have to go back NEXT Monday.....what?????. the MOT failure meant that I could not drive the car until it has a pass certificate....
Then the mechanics found a similar hooter and said they could fix it......20 mins later they came back and said that it didn't fit either......and I would HAVE to go back next week......I was really angry by now ...then all of a sudden the mechanic came in and said it was just a loose connection and he had fixed it !!
I was at the garage for 6 1/2 hours !!! and then I found Ihad 3 cd's missing....I think they may have removed them while they did the work and forgot to put them back....so tomorrow not only do I have to go to my local garage for the retest, but phone up the main dealer to see if they have my cd's.....
roll on tomorrow, it can only get better

Sunday

well right now it is raining but I won't be happy until I get up in the morning and check that the roads are clear. I HAVE to get to the garage to get work done tomorrow as the warranty runs out on Tuesday !!
Hope to get some painting done later....I haven't had time to do any today yet......
Wonder if anyone actually reads my blog?...anyone out there??

a warm day until it started to get dark....very cold now. I need to have a clear weather day on Monday as I have to take the car to the garage......sending out vibes to the Universe already

well there was no snow on the ground this morning and today has mostly been sunny.......
I did another box canvas painting this afternoon and I have done backgrounds on 4 aceos, which I will finish later.....

Wednesday

well the car is booked in for next Monday. I cannot drive the car now as it is illegal to drive a car that has failed its MOT unless you are on the way to the garage....apart from which , with a faulty handbrake, I wouldn't risk it.
I worked hard today...I painted two 7x5 box canvases, made 7 envelopes and typed 5 pages of notes for Age Cymru trustees.....and of course, did the usual housework etc....
Now for an early night.
I am looking forward to watching matthew Palmer on tv tomorrow 3pm channel 36.

Tuesday

not a happy bunny today...took the car into the garage for a service and its FIRST MOT

3947 paces from the garage back home !!...all UPHILL....puff puff

Nightmare, the garage phoned...it has failed its MOT on THREE counts. I have only done 7000 miles in it.

It is still under warranty, so bless the bloke at my garage...he is going to service it for me. He phoned the proton garage (20 miles away) and checked the warranty....they have ordered all the parts to fix it. When they are in, then I will have to take it over there and get it fixed (free)...then go BACK to MY little garage for the MOT.

My garage said that whoever put the headlight in hadn't put it in properly !!!! (THAT was the proton dealer !!)...

I am NOT very happy but what can I do...this car (and the one before) has been a nightmare from the day we got it.

So not only will I have the aggro of the walk today, but also it will have to go in twice more ......good job I don't have to go to work !!!!!!!

NEVER BUY A PROTON CAR !!!!!! (the one we had before had to go back because all the doors jammed and we couldn't get in it) and this one has been in so many times it is ridiculous !!

Monday

Monday again.....seems like only 7 days ago it was Monday again.......mmm......
I managed to get 19 paintings done last week and today I have already done 4 so all going well so far.
Next job is to take pictures and get listing. I sometimes think that the admin takes longer than the painting !!

today was a bit warmer than yesterday and I had my usual Sunday lie in.
I also managed to paint a 7x5 landscape but still have to take a photo of it.

Saturday

You learn something every day....today I read the Picnik the site that I use for cropping and squaring my pics is closing on April19th....so I have been in panic mode trying to find another site to do the same thing for me...
I have only just been told that window has its own cropping facility and I didn't know......and very easy to use as well....sigh....

I managed to do 5 paintings today, so that is a total of 18 this week, so I am now 6 ahead of schedule.....
Some of the ones today I wasn't keen on but that is the nature of the game.
Tomorrow Matthew Palmer is on Create and craft tv at 3 so I must remember not to miss that...

Thursday

well we actually went shopping today and got some good food bargains in Home Bargains. Beats me why people pay the full price for things when you can get them at such low prices.....a McVities Ginger cake (slab) for 49p !!......
Managed to find the time to get 3 aceos done tonight, so that is 13 this week......three days to go and only 2 left to keep on schedule...so all going well. I have decided that the week will start on a Monday as that is when my diary starts the page....and I am keeping a not in my diary of how many I paint.

Until I checked I didn't realise just HOW many paintings I have here that are waiting to be listed....not to mention over 100 in my two shops.....mmm.....so I really must list more.
Reality check says that if I list one item a day on etsy...one a day on Folksy and one a day on ebay it is still only £4 a week which is less than a lot of people spend each DAY on cigarettes and chocolate and alcohol....
OK....so I love chocolate but that still leaves me room to list one a day....

Monday

today we saw the first signs of frost outside.......I am glad we didn't need to go out until 1.30pm by which time the sun had melted the ice on the car windscreen.
We had a meeting at Age Cymru and I really don't want to be there.....but because hubby is the secretary I am finding it difficult to resign as they are so short of people. I want to be at home painting and not listening to talk about policies. All that stuff goes over my head......I am an artist and not an admin assistant...rant over.

Sunday

went our for Sunday lunch....18 of us.......My Auntie is over from Canada and rather than having to visit everyone, we all got together in a pub for lunch.....another 8 joined us later in the day. Had a lovely dinner...and even had my photo taken...a rare event...this is ME....not bad for an old bag of 65....sitting in a pub with a cup of tea !!

Saturday

I had my usual lie in today and then a friend came to visit. we chatted a lot about arts and crafts and she stayed  for four and a half hours...I think she enjoyed herself and went home with a lot of ideas.

Friday 13th

well Friday 13th it is.....I was driving back from town, when we discovered that the car radio wasn't working....and then when we tried to turn it off...it WOULDN'T. This worried me because it would be draining the car battery if it stayed on....mmm.....luckily we were passing our local garage so we called in. Paul, the mechanic disconnected it and then reconnected it....he said it had frozen like a pc does....I have never heard of that happening to anyone before !!! AND he never charged us ....well done to our little local garage !!!

Wednesday

Had a pleasant trip to town today....had beans on toast in a cafe and spent a lot of time chatting to people we know......rarely manage to walk around town without seeing someone ......
My Uncle phoned to tell us that my Auntie had arrived from Canada and the family are all going out for a meal on Sunday....17 of us, so that is something to look forward to,
Not done any painting today but I am still keeping to my schedule....I managed to take pics of some new artwork and put them on flickr.....
I also need to list some new items on ebay. I had two sales on etsy today and I worked out that I had sold over £70 worth of paintings this month already....
There is a discussion on one of the forums about whether painting aceos is worth it....BUT as I pointed out...If I did a larger painting and sold it for £70 after two weeks, I would be thrilled...so what is the difference in selling some tiny ones and getting the same money......I REST MY CASE.

At last a day with no rain....in fact it has been quite nice, although a bit cold.
I managed to get two aceos painted today so that is a total of 18 this week.......So I am keeping to my schedule.....
My two art magazines came today...."Paint" from the SAA (society for all artists)
and Artist's and Illustrator's magazine.....both really good with lots of articles and inspiration.....I have lots to learn yet and these will help me a lot.

A good day today with three sales.....Managed to get them all posted within the hour as I hate keeping people waiting. I know what I am like if I buy something...I want it NOW.
I also sorted out some more freebies. With every sale for years now, I have given away a freebie...either another aceo or a cartoon. I love receiving gifts and I am sure that other people do too.

it is still wet and windy outside......I haven't done any painting yet but hope to tonight.....
I have lots of new paints and card to use.

Tuesday 3rd Jan

a windy day outside today....some of our fence panels have blown loose but easily fixable......the wind has dropped a lot since this morning.
I hope to get some painting done later.
5 sales so far today which is great....it encourages me to paint more.

Monday

Today I forgot to put the dustbins out....aaargh....actually I didn't forget, I thought that they would come tomorrow. For 16 years when Monday has been a Bank Holiday the council has collected our rubbish on a Tuesday....so I assumed the same would apply this week. MY fault because I didn't check the card that they put through the door. I DID check it last week, ....the collection was Tuesday as usual...but THIS week it was Monday. NOW...I have a dustbin that is full to overflowing and the next collection is not for another TWO weeks !!!!......aaaargh.....the bin will be honking...I am just glad that it isn't summer !!
I have done four more paintings today....(4 yesterday, so I am keeping up the production line)....
As long as I keep in profit, then I will continue to list....
