Sunday 30 September 2012

Well the autumn certainly seems to be with us now. Although we had sunshine yesterday, today is cold and wet. I had a good painting week and managed to paint 22 paintings !!
Yesterday I decided to paint over an old painting that didn't sell....can't afford to waste a canvas !! I did a woodland scene but the more I looked at it, the more I didn't like it. I left it overnight but still didn't like it..
So I started again and here is the finished product.....this painting will be listed on Etsy tomorrow....

well, for a change we have been lucky and not had much rain Most of the UK has had floods and storms and we have just had light showers.
At least with rain , it is a good excuse to stay home and paint. Since Sunday, I have done 16 paintings which is brilliant. Here is another one....

Sunday 23 September 2012

well that's another holiday over and done with . I don't particularly like holidays as I would rather be at home painting.....we went to a permanent art exhibition in Bournemouth gardens and it wasn't there !! Very disappointing and I really didn't like Bournemouth much either. Far too built up for me....lots of traffic and busy roads. We had some nice trips out and I did enjoy Poole Pottery and treated myself to a Poole Pot.
We were lucky with the weather and didn't see any rain until today.....I am glad we were away LAST week.
I have already managed to do 6 paintings in the last 24 hours...here is one of them

Saturday 15 September 2012

It seems to be getting colder now and a few leaves on the trees are beginning to turn brown....Autumn is such a pretty time but it heralds winter which I do NOT like....I shall have to paint a lot of sunny pictures to make summer feel nearer all the time...

Autumn is nearly with us and so I thought I would get into the lovely copper/autumn colours....

here are two paintings that I did yesterday...

Monday 10 September 2012

I have at last found some time to get back to encaustic painting......This series , I mostly used rubber stamps as I wanted to get as many paintings done as possible.

The witch one that I have done was hand drawn using a permanent pen. Once the ink was dry I painted over the top with the coloured wax. I intend to do a few more of the witches, as Halloween is fast approaching...and NO it is not a self portrait....lol...

Thursday 6 September 2012

I am continuing to practice the one stroke painting techniques and because my wrists don't bend, I have some difficulty with the second side of the fluted petals. I have tried turning the paper round  but it is like writing left handed. I need to work out the best way for me to do this.....in the mean time I have made two more painted blank greetings cards
