yesterday I bought some acrylic paper....... I have never used it before so I thought it would be a good idea to try it out. It was Daler Rowney paper and had a nice linen finish to it.
It took the acrylic paint well...(well I suppose it would..lol)
Here is the painting I did...which is 8.3" x 5.9" in size..

Yesterday I thought I would try some encaustic work by using the iron as a hotplate A whole new experience for me. You turn the iron upside down and place the special card onto it, so that it becomes hot. Then you add the wax, which melts. Then you can make patterns in the wax. You have to be careful not to burn your fingers but it is fun to do

Here are some of the ones I did..

Tuesday 26 June 2012

yesterday I managed to paint 5 aceos....some were fantasy paintings and others were landscapes.
I keep getting messages asking me if I do larger paintings and I really want to paint on a larger scale but I am worried about how much to charge for the P&P.
Also, living where I do, if the weather is bad I might not be able to get to the post office and I am sure they wouldn't fit into the local post box....
I need to have a think about my next move.

Here is one of yesterday's aceos.

Sunday 24 June 2012

Today we have been lucky and had plenty of sunshine. A lot of the UK has had heavy rain.
I managed to take 17 pics of the 8x8 box canvas but only one of them was clear...so here it is.

Saturday 23 June 2012

I decided today, to do another acrylic painting. I am on a steep learning curve as acrylics do not behave in the same way as watercolours
Here is the painting I just finished....

Thursday 14 June 2012

well yesterday I got out the acrylics and decided to paint a box canvas......that went well and I still had some paint on the palette, so rather than waste them I did another large painting. Acrylics dry out very quickly, even though I use a stay wet palette.....
Here are the two paintings that I completed ...and used up all the left over paint..

Friday 8 June 2012

well I have had a busy week and had lots of sales......Next week I need to paint more as I am running low on items to list...
It has been wet and windy here today but I had to go to the local Age Concern's jubilee party as I am a trustee of the local group.....it was fun but I need more painting time.....
Here is another of my paintings

Monday 4 June 2012

I read last week , how to make a stay wet palette...so I thought I would give it a go. It works well.....
For those who like me have not found this information before....you put some kitchen roll into a dish (I have a large plastic tray from the pound shop).....wet the kitchen roll and then place a sheet of greaseproof paper on the top. You then put your blobs of paint onto the greaseproof....works wonders..and even better, when you have finished you just throw all the paper in the bin, and with any luck no messy tray to wash !!
Here is an acrylic that I painted yesterday....
