Well the gardener finished fixing the garden fence...good job he didn't have to come back today as it is wet and cold out there.
i have decided to try to list more paintings in the run up to Christmas and then perhaps in the new year,  I will have time to concentrate on some larger works.
Here are the paintings that I did yesterday

Monday 29 October 2012

well November is almost here and hopefully the Christmas rush for selling. With that in mind I have decided to list two a day on etsy as I have over 40 paintings waiting to be listed.
In the last few days I have been studying the work of Jean Haines, Judtih Farnworth , Joanne Boon Thomas and Ann Blockley. They all work in a similar fashion and I love their work.
I have tried to learn what I can but it isn't coming easily but I will keep trying.
In the mean time here are some of the paintings that I have done in the last 24 hours.

yesterday I started to re read the fabulous "Atmospheric Watercolours" by Jean Haines.....it is amazing that reading a book for the second time starts new and fresh ideas for painting. This is such an inspiring book.
I love the way she works because she thinks outside the box...that is SO my philosophy....I hate rules and I hate people criticising another artist's work. We all have different ideas and different ways of expressing ourselves. I also love the way that Jean paints without drawing first. I do that......it took me ages to find that this was the way for me to work and since I changed method I have gone from strength to strength.
Thanks Jean

I am feeling a lot better after a nasty cold and today I managed to paint 4 aceos. The last one was difficult...I painted some flowers and didn;t like them....painted over them and did a woodland scene.....didn't like it and it ended up as a mountain winter scene....the joys of watercolour !

Today I have listed 2 hand painted greetings cards and put them for sale on Etsy. Each card is painted in Acrylic and each card is blank.
Painting these made a nice change for me

The weekends seem to fly by lately. There are the first signs of winter coming with it feeling very cold this morning. The sun is shining and it looks very pretty outside with the trees all turning beautiful golds and browns.....
Here are some more of my encaustic paintings.

Friday 12 October 2012

I have had a very busy painting week....some weeks go well, others just result in a lot of work that I don't like. I never believed two years ago that I would be painting and selling my work as successfully as I am. It gives me a lot of pleasure to know that people love my work.....today I sold a 9x12" painting and 4 other smaller works.

Sunday 7 October 2012

I had a good painting day yesterday...some days everything goes well and.

some days I can just roll off the paintings and other days I just cannot get a successful outcome.....today was an unsuccessful day....never mind....onwards and upwards....here are some of the successful ones that I did two days ago..

Wednesday 3 October 2012

woke up this morning to what looked like snow !! Turned out to me an inch of hailstones....accompanied by thunder.......strange weather as it is now sunny and warm.....

I managed to find A FEW minutes for encaustic painting today....encaustic is painting with melted wax on the bottom of a tiny iron....the iron is used instead of a paintbrush.
Here is one of the 4 that I did,....
