Yesterday I decided to try my hand at a larger acrylic painting. Acrylics perform in a totally different way to watercolours and I found the whole process very difficult....however, I sold the painting today, so I am thrilled with that.

Wednesday 23 May 2012

well, I have been missing for a while. Had a short holiday in Ilfracombe and am now back and raring to get on with my painting. While we were away Hubby bought me some new acrylic paints and brushes. Today I tried an acrylic painting. OH MY ...it is so totally different to watercolours....a new learning curve for me.
Tomorrow is my wedding anniversary and I am sure that hubby has bought me a whole load of new art stuff.....can't wait......I will need a new house to put all this stuff in.....
The plaster on my arm comes off on Friday.
It should have been removed on Monday but as we were away the next available appointment was on Friday.
Fortunately, it hasn't stopped me painting.
Looking forward to be able to drive again though....five weeks is a long time having to use taxis or stay home......
here is one of my recent paintings....

Wednesday 9 May 2012

yesterday I went to the hospital to get a new plaster cast on my wrist...I saw the nurse, then the doctor and then had my wrist plastered and I was in and out of the hospital in 15 minutes...how's THAT for service.
I wanted to glitter the cast in purple glitter. decided it would be unfair to get glitter all over the clinic and so thought it would be better to use glitter glue. I chose a PINK plaster cast(you get the choice between, white, pink or blue) and when I put some purple glitter on it, it looked like a tattoo...yuk...so I settled on gold glitter instead...
Here is a picture of it....(pity it wasn't my left wrist, or I could have painted a picture !!)

Sunday 6 May 2012

well my wrist seems to be getting better very quickly and I am able to paint. There still some things that are difficult with a plaster cast getting in the way but painting is ok.
I managed to do quite a few new paintings last week and apart from the plaster getting in the way...they seemed to turn out ok.
I have to go back for a new cast on Tuesday and that will mean I am in a sling for a couple of hours until the plaster dries, then i will be able to paint again.
Here is one of the ones I painted last week...
