well I had no luck downloading pictures yesterday, so I hope I am more successful today....

I managed to get another three paintings done today , so I have done well this week......

today we actually had some sunshine and I was also able to do 3 more paintings.
I showed one on facebook and sold it straight away without even listing it.....I also have bids on nearly all my listings on ebay...going great guns.....

we had a very nasty thunderstorm today....such a very loud clap of thunder and the flash of lightning was so bright, it lit up the whole room....then we had torrential rain....what a nasty summer.....good job I am happy to stay indoors and paint....
strange story today.....
My dad died in 1971 and the day he died several spooky things happened in our house that i took to be a sign from him, to let me know that he was ok.
Well my Mum died 5 years ago and despite her having psychic abilities, I have never had any sign from her. So  yesterday, I set a challenge and said that if she could show me a purple flower in the garden, I would take it as a sign. Now you have to understand that all we have in our garden is grass and weeds and a few green bushes....
The only purple flowers I ever see are the tiny mountain violets on our lawn but they are all gone by the end of May. Hardly a chance of seeing a stray one.
Anyway, today I was at the kitchen window washing dishes, when out of the corner of my eye, I saw something that wasn't green....i looked up and there on a bush was a purple flower !!!!!!

I knew it was too good to be true when I saw the sunshine today.....it lasted until about 4pm and then the heavens opened for a whole hour...our grass will never get cut as it is far too muddy.....mind you, it is a very pretty shade of green.....

I managed to do some aceos today......

The rain continues. I am glad that I am retired and don't have to go to work....it must be so miserable to have to venture out day after day in the cold wet weather. At least I can choose if and when I go out and I can get my groceries delivered to the door.....thanks Tesco !!

I also had a lovely email from Helena.....THANK YOU Helena....how kind of you to send me a message...People are SO nice and it really made my day.
Helena I am sending you some Welsh rain....YES, we have MORE rain today......
Perhaps if I throw some paint onto some paper and then put it outside, I could make a nice abstract....lol
I tried doing some of these flower paintings with acrylics but the acrylics just didn't coever the surface as much as I wanted, to I went back to watercolours/
Who would have thought that watercolours gave better coverage than acrylics?????
We went shopping to Swansea today and managed to dodge the rain......at least I had a lovely roast dinner.
Woohoo...bank holiday weekend, so an extra lie in for me......

Yesterday was a good day.......I painted two greetings cards and sold them straight away. Then I also sold a box canvas painting and another on ebay........
I am now wondering if it might be a good idea to paint some more greetings cards. It is strange that you can sell a painting and yet when you add an insert and an envelope you only get half the price for them.......that is one of the strange facts......

I had to go to the post office this morning to post off the box canvas which of course took away some of the profits but never mind....I was just thrilled to sell a larger painting..

we have had so much rain here lately that it is quite depressing.....soooo...I decided to paint more flowers to brighten up my day.....

I also got a new flower book, so that I can see what flowers to paint and what they actually look like !!

I had quite a good painting weekend and manages these two 7x5 paintings....

I have had a busy few days but managed to get some painting done......

I have managed to do quite a few paintings this week....probably because of the dreadful weather.
I have been experimenting with backgrounds and then covering the work with clingfilm, leaving it to dry and then seeing what results. They look lovely, however, NOW what do I do with them....it seems a shame to add to them as this would cover the pretty backgrounds....mmmm....answers on a postcard please...lol
